INTRODUCTION TO OUR STORY ….
Part 1
I David Weshibingah Shiroya first thought of Inkers tattoos in 2010 November, while I was still in four form (high school). I was studying in Nairobi town at a school called tazama college , where I was finishing up on my studies of high school. It was a day school here in town. That was located opposite meridian hotel. I usually used to skip classes in the morning to go to a tattoo parlour that was at Norwich union 2nd floor called 2die4 ink. Where I met an amazing tattoo artist called George, his Tattoo name was iceberg tattoos. Which to me was such a fascinating name. To be honest I never hard of the name. I would say I had seen tattoos from the music videos that I used to watch like of 50 cent and Eminem,but to be honest that was the first time that I actually saw someone with tattoos in person. This guy had a couple of tattoos. Vibrant very visible and mostly awesome artwork. I had meet him earlier when I come in with my friends, that we lived in the same neighborhood of kariokor to get small matching tattoos, that we ended up only me getting a tattoo, because they all backed down and git scared am the one who actually got tattooed that day. Mind you this was the first time getting my first tattoo. Watching the guy doing my tattoo, was such an amazing experience. That's when I got the interest of doing tattoos. I was taught and trained by iceberg tattoos. It took me a whole year to learn and understand the craft. I would like to say thank you George (iceberg tattoos) because he is the reason that am doing tattoos until this day .
Part 2
I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for that first tattoo that I got from his tattoo parlour. By then I was an artist on paper, but there was something just different with the way he did the art on someone's skin that made me fall so hard and deeply in love with the art being put on someone's skin. Like a signature of yours that someone wears for the rest of there lives. It was personal. It was emotional, it was like a bond between two people. It's like you are apart of their lives to the death. You share a connection. To me art is a connection. It's personal. Inkers to me means two artists in one. One meaning an artist on paper and the other one, an artist who can transfer what's on paper onto someone's skin. To me tattoos are a way of showing your favorite meaningful art on your skin everyday. Something that you never get bored with no matter the season of the year. It's a way to heal for some, might i say for myself. Because it helped me heal, in so many ways. The tattooing process is The pain, the ability to maintain and take the pain and still smile about it mid session was something I haven't experienced before in my life. Being doing tattoos now for over 13 years now. The main reason I would encourage you to come get a tattoo from me is, you will find a person who is deeply in love with the art and understands the importance of getting a tattoo, whether be it, you are getting a tattoo of your loved one, or you are fascinated by an artwork. Am the guy you would want doing your tattoo because I take the time to understand the art, study the meaning, the history of it and appreciate the art while am doing it on your skin. Plus I am a very good listener, meaning I will listen to your story to why you are getting the your artwork, what it means to you, while i am doing it permanently on your skin.
